MOXIETEC™ RAPID INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS PROTOTYPING

We offer all ASTM Standard Thickness of:

  • 3.2 mm
  • 7.0 mm
  • 14.0 mm

The system is designed based on these standard thicknesses, allowing us to cut all types of samples required for tensile, impact, and flexural (3-Point Bending) tests directly from the plaques.

Additionally, we have added 25.4 mm (1 inch) to our collection, in response to customer interest in obtaining comparable properties for thicker parts.

MOXIETEC™ RAPID INJECTION MOLDING PROCESS PROTOTYPING

Moxietec’s rapid prototyping system provides a quick and cost-effective method for designing optimal formulations and processes for polymer foam injection molding to achieve desired part properties. Through a series of short tests, the optimal mold design, polymer formulation, and processing parameter needed to produce thermoplastic foam parts with ideal cellular structure, mechanical strength, and physical properties are determined.

During a series of tests, polymer formulations and processing parameters are adjusted while sensors collect real-time data on polymer flow, mold temperature, mold pressure, and gas volume contributions to the final molded part. The resulting parts are then inspected and tested for structural integrity and mechanical performance. Based on these insights, formulations and processing parameters are refined in subsequent iterations until the desired outcomes are achieved.

Additionally, historical data enhances the efficiency and accuracy of the prototyping process over time, enabling continuous improvement in material and process development.
