MOXIETEC™ HEATED RUNNER SEPARATOR
Moxietec’s innovative Heated Runner Separator modifies traditional cold runner injection molding systems to enhance the injection molding of foamed polymers. Both traditional hot and cold runner systems pose challenges when molding foamed polymers. The Heated Runner Separator, modifies cold runner systems to improve the injection molding of foamed polymers.
A heated runner separator is built to the mold base and encapsulates a small section of each secondary runner branch in a three plates injection mold.
At the end of each injection cycle, as the molded part cools and solidifies, the Heated Runner Separator locally heats the plastic in the runners, leaving a small section of molten plastic. During part ejection, the runner separates at this molten section, enabling efficient mold ejection. The separator incorporates precise temperature controls and insulation to ensure that localized heating does not interfere with the overall injection molding process.
